Nursing Direct are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to provide one-to-one care for a 15-year-old female with behavioural needs in her home environment in Loughborough, Leicestershire. This role is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping a young person build a structured routine through sports, fitness, and positive engagement.
Our client has experienced challenges in maintaining placements and requires structured daily activities to support her emotional well-being and long-term personal growth. Your role will focus on providing stability, encouragement, and active engagement in sports and fitness, including football and gym activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide structured support with a strong focus on sports and physical activities.
- Encourage routine, goal-setting, and positive reinforcement.
- Manage and reduce risks associated with missing episodes, particularly in the evenings.
- Offer emotional support and help de-escalate challenging situations.
- Work collaboratively with the family and professionals to maintain a stable and supportive environment.
- Ensure the young person’s safety and manage any behavioural challenges with care and professionalism.
Candidate requirements:
- A passion for sports, especially football and fitness activities.
- Previous experience working with young people with emotional and behavioural challenges.
- PMVA or equivalent restraint training (essential).
- Ability to actively engage in outdoor and sporting activities.
- Comfortable working in a home environment with pets (dogs are present but can be put away if needed).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with the young person.
