Nursing Direct are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate team of skilled carers to support a young boy with his care needs within his family home in Stratford, London. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our client’s life while working within a dedicated and supportive team.
About the role:
Our client is a young boy living at home with his family who requires specialist support. The role involves assisting with PEG feeding, medication administration, suctioning, personal care, and moving and handling. The client enjoys interaction and watching cartoons, creating a warm and engaging environment for care delivery.
In addition to home-based care, you may be required to support the family during medical appointments and community outings, ensuring continuity of care outside the home.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support within the family home and community.
- Assist with all aspects of daily living, including personal care and mobility.
- Administer PEG feeds and medications as required.
- Perform deep suctioning with a catheter.
- Ensure the client’s safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.
- Support the family in attending appointments and external activities.
Essential experience & requirements:
- Experience supporting clients with PEG feeds and medication administration.
- Knowledge and experience in providing care for individuals with Dystonia.
- Competency in deep suctioning with a catheter.
- Enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce).
- Commitment to safeguarding and continuous professional development.
