Nursing Direct are seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to provide essential care and support for a young woman in her early 20s with Cerebral Palsy in Lewes, Sussex. This rewarding homecare role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting her with daily living activities, mobility, and community engagement.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality personal care and mobility support within the home and community.
- Assist with daily activities, including dressing and personal hygiene.
- Support and encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
- Administer medication safely and effectively.
- Work collaboratively within a 2:1 staffing ratio to deliver consistent care.
- Ensure the client’s safety, dignity, and well-being at all times.
Essential requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months UK healthcare experience in a similar role.
- Passionate about providing high-quality individual and teamwork in care.
- Valid DBS certificate (within the last year or registered on the update service).
- Confidence in delivering care and adapting to the client’s specific needs.
- Willingness to work within a 2:1 staffing ratio.
Preferred requirements:
- A percentage of the care team must hold a valid UK driving licence to facilitate community outings using the client’s Motability van.
- Experience in supporting individuals with:
- Cerebral Palsy
- Epilepsy/Status management
- Dysphagia and delayed swallow
- Dystonia
- Adaptability to the client’s evolving care needs and a willingness to learn new skills.
